It is a delight to be part of Indiana’s Suffrage Centennial Block Party! Workshop kits can be picked up for free around the state (click here to reserve yours).
Learn about the iconography of the suffrage movement in America with artist and historic preservationist Sarah Marsom. Create your own banner to pay homage to a woman of the past, reinterpret a historic banner, or advocate for women’s rights today. After a short presentation on the history of women’s rights, voting rights, and craftivism, Sarah will guide participants through the creation of their own small banners inspired by one used by Indiana suffragists out of felt or paper.
